Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Cursorwing (the “App”, “we”) collects, why, and what choices you have. The short version: we only collect what we need to answer your questions and run your subscription, and we don't sell your data.

1. What we collect

• Your question and a screenshot. When you ask Cursorwing something, the App sends your question, a screenshot of the screen your mouse is on, and a list of the buttons and menus on that screen to our servers so the next step can be worked out. Nothing is captured until you ask, and the App never captures its own windows.
• Google sign-in. You sign in to the App with your Google account. From Google we receive only your name, email address, and profile picture. We use them only to create your account, sign you in, and show which account is signed in.
• Account and billing details. Your email address, plan, and subscription status. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Polar; we never see or store your full card number.
• Basic usage data. How many conversations you have used (to apply your plan limit), the app version, and error reports, so we can fix problems.

2. How we use it

• To work out the next step and point the yellow cursor at it.
• To manage your account, subscription, conversation limit, and support requests.
• To keep the App secure and working well.

We don't use your screenshots, questions, or Google account information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent your personal information.

Cursorwing's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that help us run the App, and they may use it only to provide their service to us:

• Supabase, for sign-in, our database, and our servers
• OpenAI, the AI service that reads your question and screenshot and suggests the next step
• Polar, for payments and subscriptions
• Vercel, for hosting this website

These providers may store data outside your country. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

4. How long we keep it

Screenshots and questions are used to answer you and are not stored in our database. Our AI provider may keep request data for a short period (up to 30 days) for abuse monitoring, then deletes it. Account, usage, and billing records are kept while your account is active, and afterwards as long as required for tax and legal reasons.

5. Your choices and rights

You can sign out of the App at any time. You can delete your account yourself: sign in on our website's account page and choose Delete account (cancel any active subscription first in Manage subscription). Your account and its data are deleted right away. You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by emailing help@cursorwing.app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example, GDPR or CCPA), and you can contact your local data protection authority.

6. Children

The App isn't intended for children under 14. If you believe a child under 14 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

7. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections, and access is limited to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know through the App or our website.
